How to choose the color temperature of a lamp?

We've noticed that this is a topic that still raises some questions among our private clients, so today we've prepared this post to answer all your questions about this issue!

Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) is a technical term used to indicate that light contains color components, which are responsible for the emission of yellow or blue light. This emission is quantified in the unit of measurement Kelvin (K). The most common color temperature is between 2700K and 6500K. The lower the Kelvin level, the more yellow the light, while the higher the Kelvin level, the whiter the light.

To create a calm and relaxing environment, you should choose a warm white color temperature (2700K). A warmer light, turn the environment more inviting and pleasant. Ideally, use these shades in the living and dining rooms, as well as in bedrooms, to help you unwind after a day's work and prepare your body for rest.

Cooler white lights are most commonly used in active areas of the home, such as kitchens and bathrooms. These lights allow for effective illumination, as well as increased productivity and focus. They should also be used in offices, stores, and supermarkets. In this case, we're talking about 4000K — neutral white .

Above 5000K — cool white — the light is close to daylight and bright bluish hues, making it ideal for commercial or task-oriented spaces such as warehouses, sports courts, and healthcare facilities. In these locations, good visibility is essential for employees to perform their tasks safely and efficiently.

In addition to color temperature, it is also important to consider the Color Rendering Index (CRI).

What is Color Rendering Index?

A light source's Color Rendering Index (CRI) value describes how accurately it can illuminate the colors of an object. It ranges from 0 to 100, with 100 being the best possible value, meaning that colors appear the same under artificial light as under natural light. Different CRIs display different colors of the same object.

The first factor you should choose is CCT, and then IRC!
